Fracture blisters are a condition in which fluid fills in a space between skin layers. This is not common and is seen in less than 3% of fractures. Blisters in this condition generally occur directly over the fractured skin. Elbows, knees, ankles, and wrists are the common locations where blisters could be seen after a fracture. This condition can also occur after orthopedic surgery to treat a fracture. Such surgeries often include the application of ortho implants.
